A powerful VLE, allowing teachers and schools to set automated tests and homework for their pupils
Existing Virtual Learning Environments were limited or not user-friendly
Teachers were unable to create their own tests on existing VLEs, but liked having automatic test marking
A school test platform that is easy for teachers and students
The platform lets teachers create tests like a slideshow, adding multiple choice, short and long answer questions. Tests can be automatically marked and analytics generated from them

Customisable avatars
When students first join the platform, they can create their own avatar and personalise them with accessories and details. This avatar is then used throughout the site to represent them
Individual branded school logins
Supporting multiple schools from one unified platform, Testy supported unique branded login pages to fit in with each school's branding
The tech stack
- Laravel
Laravel is the PHP framework used to build this project
- WebSockets
During live tests and instant messages, WebSockets were used to keep all clients up to date
- Vue
Vue was used for the front-end, allowing for quick and consistent integration
Final Thoughts
Testy was a fun project to work on! It was interesting to work with teachers facing issues with existing platforms and create a new platform that made their lives easier and provided a better experience for the students using the platform too.
